400ex engine swap??????

hey i was wondering if anyone ever heard of swapping engines with any other honda atv's or bikes, if it was ever done or even attempted by anyone?????

Uhhhh yea! How about the CRF450 Dirtbike engine in an 400EX frame. You have to have your frame modified, but the end result is awesome.

The crf 450 swap is probably one of the moset common. Someome on here put a 300ex engine in a 250r frame. And I have heard of 250r engine in a 300ex. Also many street bike engines in 4-wheelers, and i saw a pic of a few 3-wheelers with the street bike motors. Also a good swap is the KTM520 engine into a 400ex. And another good swap from what i've heard is the 350x engine into 300ex frame. You can pritty much put any engine into any frame. The posibilitys are endless.

EDIT: I think someone put a 650 honda dirt bike engine into the 400ex as a baha racer.

Rath racing has a bad***** KTM520 in an aftermarket 400ex frame. You can buy new crf450 motors from HMC. $$$ I saw one in the crate one visit to JH racing last winter.

or start w/used from dirtbike. More horsepower, sweet carb.

I looked and you can get a fairly new bike for $3k to $4k. A little less than the 450r quad.
