title question

my friend is trying to tell me dirtbikes dont have titles does anyone know if they do?

yeah they do... anything under 90cc dont have to have one though... 50cc quads dont have to have titles either...

to answer your question correctly, the thing you guys are calling a title is a certificate of origin...not a title. and so you know it depends on the sate you live in, example, in nj any off road vehicle does not have a title, the have a registartion(or they are supposed to by law) all you need to register the machine is a notary recepit , you then go to dmv, pay the tax and register it. that is in effect your title(and it transfers the ownership to any state ). I think that you guys should find out in pa by calling the state police, they can tell you, but pa is like nj i think, i have bought and sold many bikes from there. as long as it is not a street driven machine, you will not get a real title usually
