Wow what a course they had set up for the youth atv riders! The 50 class ran the same course we ran earlier this season, while the 90 class had about an extra mile thrown in of some real messy terrain!

The 90cc class has been full of talent this season and its great to see these guys out there racing.

I missed a good start picture because i was trying to find out why Cody's quad was sitting on the line when it should have been throing mud:p He forgot to put it in gear again, but this time he was able to put a hard charge in and went into the woods in 5th

Working a line that took him right to the woods helped him at the start. The other riders slowed briefly to see where they needed to go as Cody stayed hard on the gas

Kyle Riley flys past me near the end of lap 1 and pumps his fist in victory:eek: Brandon Boso wasnt far behind and as soon as they hit the long hill in the field made the pass on Riley and the race was on!

Great pictures Pappy. Glad to see your boys do so good. Way to go Cody and Ryan. Yea that was one tuff course for the 90 cc quads. But tracks like that make a boy a better rider. Boy did Michael ever have a bad start. When he pinned the gas on the start, the carb loaded up and went blaaaaaaaaaaa:mad: .But it started and away he went. They were already halfway up the field. But that just made him ride harder. Hope to see ya next weekend.

Hey Pappy where are your kids racing at? Here in the wonderful state of MD youth quad classes are tabboo. My boys raced at Foot of the MT in PA and had a blast. I want to get in a series that has both youth and adult quad XC races. The problem is living in Harford county the drive to such places is a killer. I guess it is time to move hugh!?

BTW congrats to your boys, and great coverage as usual. It is great to see the future of our sport.

Eric your in the same situation I was in, and yes, i relocated to a better life:p

Dont be fooled, the FTM course is a cake walk as compared to what they put these kids of the Koontz Series thru:D Its every bit as hard on them as a XC course is too an adult:macho

check out how far cody's tire is down in that rut:( These courses will have our boys ready for when they ride in the adult classes:macho

I agree that FOTM was easy but it was great for the 50cc kids. I noticed how tough that race your kids were in when I saw the picts of the mud pit. If I didn't have a boat and a deap love for the Chesapeake Bay I would be out of here tommorrow. At least here I can try to enjoy both.

Pappy,

I love to see pics of the kids doing their thing...TY

I have a ?? or 2 for u.

How are these bikes holding up to the mud and water??? The reason I ask is because we have a predator 90 and we are about to replace the stator...I hear that these bikes can't stand up to the water...but from looking at these pics it seems to be the complete opposite.

Do you know of any changes (mods)they have done if any to make them more water friendly??? If anyone else has any ideas please feel free to reply....PLEASE!!!

I am about to jump ship and get rid of the Predator and go with a 4 stroke. Which I really don't want to do. I like the auto tranny and the electric start. We really like the PREDATOR and are goning to see how it goes for now.

TY in advance.

i saw a few predators with problems yesterday due to water. its not just the predator but all the 2 stroke minis in general.

we havent had one single problem with our honda

TY Pappy

I am thinking of going w/a 4 stroke. A friend of ours has the trx 90 and the only thing that is a turn off is the Pull start w/o any other option of starting it kinda stinks. If they only had backup kick or electric. I would have gone with it.

I heard on another forum that I can replace the Predator elec. system with the Kasea and that should help some. Also the side covers from the 04 Pred. have helped with the water getting into the stator...I just don't know if it is worth the expense of doing these mods or just getting another bike.

Have you seen any DS90's on the tracks??That bike looks to be water tight.

TY

Keep up the good work with those pics!!!

Yes there are a couple of DS 90's. And there are some AC quads. There the same quads. My son rides a AC 50 in the 50 class rider #838. We haven't had any problems with water . And the other AC 50 rider hasn't had any problem with water either. The one Pred 90 that got wet was in the air box which give some trouble but he still won his class. There was a Bombardier 90 also he never had any trouble with his yet. My son has hit creeks way over his tires, never a problem yet. If this quad can take what he can put it trough then it will go thru anything. Mud ,water jumping you name it.:D

yep, proper prep will take care of the water issue.
