I got tired of my 250x motor so I sold it. Now I need a new one. I wanted a 350x motor, but those are so rare and expensive if you find a RUNNING one. What do you guys think would be a good project? Me and my buddy have stuck a Kawasaki 750 in a Tecate-4 frame so anything is possible.

Honestly, I have seen it done. I have started looking at them. They get pretty pricey though. I want something that will turn heads when I hit the gas. A BIG thumper or a real screaming 2-stroke. I thought also about the LT500 or a big 440ex. I don't care how it rides or if it vibrates. I'm not out to win the supercross championship, I'm out to cruise around in some open farm fields and some woods.

I found a nice XR500. The only problem I can see happening is the reverse kick. Will I be able to get away with that or do I need to modify anything to make it work (clearing the rear tire)?

i'm in the process of putting a 310r motor in my 250x frame. i'm having all parts re-painted, etc... i'm putting 250r +3+1 a-arms on it, 400ex shocks, bills pipe, mikuni 38mm carb, aftermarket rad shrouds, uni filter w/o airbox, american racer front and rear tires. my x already has a durablue +4 axle, maier race fenders, etc... this project is really only costing me $1500-$2000 to complete, for a complete race ready 310RX conversion quad. it doesn't take much work to get the moto in, except new front mounts ned to be fabbed, along with the engine head mount. you must gusett the entire frames weak points, and the pipe needs to be worked to get it in the frame. eventually i will put 250r race fenders on my conversion but for now i'll do fine, plus i want to surprise some people :D
its going to be wicked fast!

How wide is it going to be with the +3+1 250r a arms on it, I would guess it will be over 50 inches when it is all lowered down.

it prolly will be over 50 inches when lowered, but in that case i'll run +1+1 a-arms on the left side, and the +3+1 on the right side.

I have to agree with you on this one, I know that set up is used alot on true flat tracks!
