My 400EX has actually begun to drink more gas...anyone know why it would be guzzling more gas?
As for the most guzzling 4-stroke sport, I would say the Raptor because it has 2 carbs.
I'd say the kfx700:
Twin, 700cc, and overweight........

You also gotta relize the banshees got a bigger tank so it prolly still does guzzle more gas;)

well for a 30 mile 50" trail ride the 250 recon, and stock 400ex took exactly i gallon. the kfx 400 took 1.2 gal, so i would say

Yea I know, but after riding for a few hours...the level of gas has barely dropped.
My 400EX has let up on being a gas guzzler for now...I cleaned my air filter real good (looks brand spanking new) and I went for a 2-hr straight ride and it looks like I only used a couple tablespoons of gas.

Thats pretty good if you ask me.... My old Yamaha Blaster went from full to empty in about 3 1/2 hours or riding. If that.

Yea, my Banshee only has pipes and silencers...(aftermarket pistons and crankshaft but that won't affect gas efficiency).

Actually, the rappy is pretty good on gas. It does use a little more than a 400, but not enough that I have to worry on a long ride. My LT is another story. Even though it has a 3.2 gallon tank, I get about 3.5 hours run time on a fast trail ride. Harescramble I'm on fumes at the end... I don't like to stop! :p

If the pistons have a boost port, it will adversely affect gas milage.

my 400 is amazing on gas, it almost seems like ever since i got the 416 its better on gas, i can fill up, and after 5 hours of riding its praciticly still to the brim.
my LT250R was horrible on gas tho, half a tank for a 3 hour ride. and my buddy said his 450R sucks gas too, almost as much as his old LT as well

By far sucks the most gas. They have 3.2 gallon fuel tanks, the same as the 450R. My uncle only gets about 40 miles a tank.

I know the 400ex has great gas milage ( i figured it out, around 30 MPG if im driving easy) Id bet the Sportsman 700 and 800 suck ALOT of gas because i know the 500 did ( my friend had one and it used 5 gallons after about a 3 hour trail ride, but it was pretty much wide ipen the whole way.) and my blaster was pretty bad on gas too, i hated it for trail ride cuz i couldnt stop at a gas station because i had to premix.

In all honesty the Sportsman 700 doesn't suck as much gas as you would think. Ive ridden my uncles for 3 years and it really is good on gas.

ok if a 400 does about 30 MPG and it has what about 3 Gallon tank. so that make 90 miles. it you get 3 hours on a tank it means you don't do much in millage cause that would only be 30 miles in 1 hour.
My 400 has a little over 1.5 hours worth of gas.and thats just cruzzing down a dirt road not WFO.
Did you ever try to do 5 hour on a tank. I say it's BS. maybe 5 hours if you stop at pits or camps or something but time it and there is no way you get 5 hours of driving on1 tank.
