yes and no. usually if you mod things you tend to run the hell out of them, therefore you will shorten the life span of the quad. now depending on what you consider ruin will tell you what the life span maybe.

I have to say, the other day i was driving home from work, midnight or so, and thinking "man i really wanna tear it up right now".

There was just something great about looking in the bed of my truck and seeing that Orange die hard 450. It has been replaced with parts for my truck. I work 7 days a week and couldnt risk getting hurt.

However, this is no doubt, there are times where i miss dropping a gear on my 400, looking over my shoulder to see a ltr 3 feet behind, hitting the ground crooked and holding that throttle all the way around the corner and stiff into the side of the bike. Take a double take and see that ltr soaring into the nastiness off the track.

Ugh. i gotta stop reliving Live Oaks race.

eh. i average 15 or so mpg's . i can reach as high as 19 if i can stay off the throttle and out of the city. it only has the v8 4.6. im about to do 35x13.50's with some 4.56's in the rear end. if i can stay up in to the teens i will be a happy guy.


Salt life. i got it about a year ago. and yea about 1 in 20 cars has some form of it, but mine is bigger and custom cut. We have more people with "swamp life" the salt life though. Fox stickers arent cool anymore lol.

Cool truck, shame its got the wimpy 4.6L tho Im a fan of the 5.4L since in reality it gets about 1-2mpg but much more power.

Yea the 4.6 isnt too great. exhaust, intake, programmer and a few other odds and ends has made up for the lack of motor. i get my brother off the line bad (05 5.4), i will get a truck length on him but once he gets the rpms up, bye bye. if we ever did a rolling start im sure he would hurt me. If he would quit being gay and do a blower that truck would be badddd. His truck is very fast, but it has 3.31's or whatever the super high gear is. that also helps me out when it comes to pulling off the line (3.73's in mine). I can white smoke my tires all day long. sounds like a mustang gt lol.

Its gets the job done for me though. i have hauled some heavy loads with it, bed full of water, 20 foot car hauler with a dodge ram on it, and a trailer full of tractor trailer brake drums. heavy as it gets but it seems to do okay. I dont make a habit out of it.

I would have got a 5.4, however i was pulling 20ampg all day long when i was sitting stock. how do you beat that. you cant for a half ton. And i bought my truck when gas was 4-5 bucks a gallon. almost bought a ranger, would have been the worst thing i have ever done. I dont see how you would think the 5.4 gets better fuel mileage though? i can understand its a heavy truck and with a small motor its not gonna be the best. but like i said i was pulling 17-22 and have pics to prove it. my brother stock couldnt get near 20 unless he was on the highway for a few hours. i think i have a pic of 20mpg.

Fox gear, hell it used to be the best. I still have a couple sets in the closet. I loved how light my jersey was. The strechy part in the crotch was nice too. It went through hell and kept fighting back. I ripped my jersey a little, and stomach a lot, on what i think was my sprocket when i cased a big double and went over the handlebars during practice in Okeechobee. other then that, which was very minor do to the situation, i have always loved my gear. Oh, got a concussion wearing a fox helmet. Ouch.

Yea, I cant argue with the newer 4.6L the old ones in the trucks now those were bad.

For most it seems like its fine as I see ALOT of F150s with the 4.6L. Course if I bought a newer F truck its gotta at least have the 5.4L and every HD package known to man on it or Im adding them. Overbuilt is the key in my way of thinking and its never done me wrong.

Now only if I had some cash I could get my 94 F250 HD 351W reg cab LB going, it needs heads and some other minor work but I lost my job so not much works gonna get done. Was gonna drop an entire new rebuilt engine from Ford in there but at 2700 I think not right now.

Course mpg lol.. In your case mpg is nice, I wouldnt be able to touch you. 351W, full exhaust done, emmissions deleted and I still know I will only get 14mpg in town and 17hwy if Im lucky. But a totally unaerodynamic brick doing 70mph with 4.10s and a limited slip hehe. Is only rated to tow 10k lbs but considering I have used similar trucks to tow 20k lbs with NO issues Im sure it will hold up. Ford always under rates everything for safety of the consumer.

I think we are atleast 3 years out for a reovery. I would say that in our political climate, the rebulicans do not want a fast recovery so they can take the presidency in 2012. The Dems may want it slower as well so they can try and show its the rebs doings and take back some seats and keep the white house.

Its a big game....with big money at stake. 99% of the politicians should be facing a long drop from a short rope.
