Just wondering if anybody has a 41mm fcr on a 406. I bought one now I am wondering if it is going to to big. My engine has polish and port, 479 grind web cam, hardened rockers, stainless valves, 10.8: 1 wiseco. Soon to be JE 425 11:1.

Maybe you should wait for the 425 kit!!!:D

the 41mm FCR is going to murder your lowend, but really wake up your motor at higher RPM's.

That cam pulls a lot of vacuum, so the (bigger) carb will probably work well. I don't think you'll lose much bottom end power if it's dialed in. Once the 425 "is in" you won't regret it unless you're putting around in the woods alot. The 39 would probably be a better choice overall though.

is the 479 their newer grind? is this the one that requires new springs but runs on stock rocker?

Hardened rockers with this cam. Thanks for the info everybody. Bought a 39mm. I have a 41mm for sale if anybody needs one.

I think you would of been good.

You sertainly can over carbontate? a quad. I did it with my first quad a blaster.

But the 479 is the second most aggesive cam Web offers I think it would of opened the motor enough to handle the extra H2o.

I think I will try them both just to see. I do alot of drag racing in the sand. So maybe the 41 will work well.
