I have some questions conserning the 350X conversion for the 300EX.

1). Is it easy to kickstart?

2). Is it reliable?

3). Is it provide way more all around power than the 300EX engine?

4). Is it easily done?

5). Will it hang with 400Ex's and Z/KFX-400's?

6). Is it worth it?

I know people already have tons of threads on these things but i just really dotn have the time to check. Please dont give me a hard time :D

Any Help Is Highly Appreciated!!! :)

yes to every single one of those questions above, and u can even buy the conversion kit from www.powroll.com for about 500 and they also have upgrades for the motor to beat 400's.

The only thing I'm positive about is it hanging with the 400's! My friend has a 350x in a 250x frame and it goes but it doesn't hang with mine. But, he recently had TC take a spare 350x that he had and made it into a 425 (he's picking it up this weekend at southwick). Now when he installs that mother, well see if it can hang with the 400's. Everything else you said, I would say yes!

I did the conversion I would burn a few friends of mine if I was running Motos around one of the local Pits. And most of them have kfx400, 400ex, raptor. Not because my bike is faster but I Know how to ride it. In a drag those guys would win but a 400ex that has a T4 and all jetted, and has a few good years on the top end and now starting to burn oil and I can stay with him untill third .
my 350x has a T4 with a FMF 400ex header modified , Jetted , k&n Other than that it was a brand new crate motor I got with carb, and all electrical, and oil cooler. Also has the raptor rear shock with a 350x swingarm and axle. , 400ex front end.

As far as relibility it has never left me out in the trail or on the track And I dont dive the bike easy by and means but I not a hack either like out of control. I dont have a problem statrting it but my friends do.. with good compresion and no decomp cable hooked up it can be tough. It like a new bike over a 300ex which I have also that modded like mine .

I have pics and more info so email me
I also know where one is for sale

Will the engine just bolt right up to the frame? Will it also work with the 250x frame? Just simple questions. I am not a big mechanic so i wanna know if its a simple task to do!:D

All you have to do to make it fit is on the top right frame rail you need to cut a small part of the frame. For the oil line bolt. On the back top motor mount on the left side you need to cut it off and make a new mount. I did the conversion an loved it. As for the head pipe i took it to a local muffler shop an had him extend it about 3 inches. That will save you about $500 dollars on the pipe

So what will be the overall cost of this project. I need the motor and everything else needed to do this conversion. Any estimates?:huh

Your labor is free and what ever you get the motor for?? varies!! Headpipe, I would try Dynoport! There located in western NY. They made a full exhaust for my friends 350x for like $250.

I don't mean to be insulting or anything, but you seem to be pretty new to the arena of major modification. That doesn't mean you shouldn't tackle the project, but it DOES mean that you should keep the project as simple as possible.

Spend the few extra bucks and get the kit from Powroll. If this is your first major quad project, don't fart around with making your own motor mounts or custom exhaust just to save a few bucks. Get something that's proven to work, because you'll run into enough headaches as it is, don't go making things more complicated.

The main question to all of this is....

IS IT WORTH IT???

I have read many posts of this conversion... Many say go for it, but some also say waste of time.

I would like to hear your guy's oppinion on this subject matter.

Thanks for all the info from the past few days! ;)
