is there any other way to start in gear besides the 2 wires at the perch. they were removed and now i cant start in gear anymore, where did these wires go too? and can i just re attach them farther down?

those 2 wires went down to the neutral safety switch, which when hooked up only lets you start the bike in neutral or with the clutch pulled in, so you dont accidently start it gear without the clutch pulled in, causing premature wear on the starter.

the switch is located on the left side of the engine, when your sitting on the bike, by the sprocket...its the black thing

For what it's worth Chanman, when I disconnected the wire from the neutral light and traced it down to where it goes to the motor...lower left down by the shifter....I pulled the wire out from there and just duct taped over it.....I am fairly certain that I can start in any:confused: gear? At least first and second I know of.

Don't know if that will help.

first find the neutral switch...between the side case and the sprocket, right above the shifter, and see if it has a connector on it, if it does, trace the wires comming off of it to see where they end and then splice em together, or splice them right where the switch is

correct me if im wrong, but arent there only the 2 wires comming out of the switch and only going to the perch?

Chanman, I just pulled the wire out down by the shifter and traced it back to the battery and zip tied the wire up back there.
