I got a Burgard +1 anti-vibe stem from JH Racing last friday and I am really pleased. I had a Lonestar anti-vibe on my 250R and this Burgard stem feels just as good. It took a lot of vibration outta the bars and soaks up the bumps decently. With a Denton Steering Dampener.....it would be great! I got it for $220.

What would you recommend a +1 or a +2 for myself being 6'2"?
Was looking into the Houser stems and clamps, is the reason I didn't list +1.5

burgard and Houser are both great products, we just installed a ims tank on our 450r and noticed that the stock stem is rubbing a little into the tank so keep that in mind also it will depend on the bars that you run, we like to run cr high straighter bend but lower so we need some extra height.

hey - not to get off topic here, but will 400ex stems fit on the 450r?

I haven't tried it but the 450r stem is twice the size as the 400ex in diameter so I would have to say no

a 400ex stem (aftermarket) will fit the 450R however as Dusty stated the 450R uses a larger diameter main tube. When the 450R first arrived, making a new stem bushing was all that was needed and the 400ex stem slipped right in. Id even bet that some companies are selling stocks of 400 stems with the bushing but cant swear to it:p

from what I noticed the aftermarket 450r stems are still bigger around that the aftermarket 400ex stems, I don't know maybe I am smoking something :(

no you are correct, the only way to use a 400ex stem is to have a new top stem bushing made. I guess honda tried to beef up the stem by using a larger diameter tube but it still bends fairly easy:p

pappy, how would you go about getting one of those bushings made

i have a 400ex roll +2" stem with a gpr & tag bars and it would be real nice if i could just swap it over.

i watched burgard knock out a few for local fellas that were in the same position as you on his lathe but i have no idea how to actually make one.
