Get smaller tires, and possibly better rims. I would also remove the POS toolbox and tail light. ;)

You can remove the airbox, remove the choke, put in a Sparks advance key ($15 for the key, about 15 for a gasket), shave the fenders, remove the headlights, play around w/ the gearing (maybe add a 14t sprocket, or add a tooth or two to the rear). If you remove the choke &/or airbox, don't forget to rejet.

well, i have 18in turf tamers on the rear and am buying some rikens for the front, got beadlocks and you cant get much better front rims, the toolbox and tailight are off already. The airbox lid is off , choke removed, no advance key yet......, im ganna leave the fenders on till it get a little less muddy out...,it already has 14t sproket and i think i am ganna take some off the rea.
thanks for the ideas guys...

Rico,

Why take the 14T off in place of a 15T front?

I'm running the same setup as hetrick, minus the choke removal, and it seems to smoke along pretty well.

Actually, I did all the airbox and intake mods. after changing out the sprocket so I've never ran a 15T with the mods. Hmmm? Should I give it another try?

Well 18 inch tires and a 14 tooth sprocket stink,,I've tried it and there is no 1st gear and very little 2nd. With a built motor,,the best gearing I found (running 18 inch rear tires) is 15 up front and either 38 or I like the 36 the best. Now with 20 inch tires and built motor maybe a 14 but i think the power will make up the difference and a 15 would work best. IT's matter of what you like,,but if you run a 14 up front with a built motor,,you gotta drop a few teeth in the back to get a good strong pullin quad. The 36 tooth sprocket I added on mine was one of the best $35 purchases I've made so far..hands down. But I'm goin muddin this weekend at LBL,,,so I'll be running stock tires 20inchers,,with a 36 rear,,don't know how that's gonna work out,,but I'm sure I can manage..:D

Rico,

Whoops! Thanks, looks like I screwed up... I'm still running stock rubber on my machine... I think I'll still give the 15T front a go this weekend, it may prove better than the 14T even with stock tires and the airbox mods.

Thanks!

i run 18s with a 16t and my motor work, i didn't like the 15t on there it reved way to fast and i was constantly shifting... i really like it when i run 20s and my 16t on trails it don't bog and its still got tons of power!!!!!

Well I have a 416 kit and with 15/38 gearing I still barley have a 1st gear and little second. The bets thing I ever did was buy a 36 tooth rear sprocket.

Adjust the throttle cable so that you get the full range of motion of the carb needle valve. I adjust mine about a 1/2".
