Has anyone changed their cam to a xr400 cam? I have a stock motor (400ex) with the exception of a pipe, jet kit and air filter. Do you think this is a mod worth doing?

Thanks!:D

I just got mine in yesterday,,,the only thing with adding a new wilder cam is you really should add a higher compression piston with it to get the full effect of the change..The high comp piston and cam work hand in hand and the benefits of adding both will be substantually greater than just adding the cam. IF you do order a cam get it from marcums ATV,,,shipped mine to my door for $120,,,and nobody came close to that..That's were I'll be getting my 416 piston from too...

Rico,

Do you run a FMF powerbomb header and an e-series pipe?

Rico.. You didn't really answer the question. I'm dropping the xr400 from Marcum's in this week. I'll post the results.

I will also be doing the 416 soon. does any one know the horsepower of this or any big bore with or without othe modds?

Personally I think any camshaft mod that is more aggressive than stock is worth doing. But as Rico said, the addition of a higher compression piston will boost the performance you get out of your new cam.

No sir,,,I run a powercore Iv/2 but I have seen a few guys on this message board run an E-series on a powerbong..:D

And I guess I'll answer the question this time,,,yes I would think adding a XR cam would be worth it,,but If ya plan on doing other motor work I'd just wait till ya got all the parts before taking the motor apart several times.
