Skidplate Woes

My DG Baja Swingarm Skidplate gets stuck on everything. EVERYTHING. I cant really deal with the clearance loss anymore, and am thinking of putting my factory plate back on. It caused me to get hurt this weekend ><;

Anyone else have this problem?

How is it being caught on everything? I hit stuff with mine all the time, I don't care.

Some of the hills I ride are rutted out from 4X4 quads. There isnt always a way to ride on top of the ruts, or my back tires slip down into the ruts. My plate digs into the median, and I get no where.

Stock. Keep them at the reccomended inflation 4.5 or whatever.

Is there a better plate out there, or should I just use the stock?

Laid down next to quad for a victory picture after I flipped it. Had my helmet on during the incident or my post would have been more like this:

"Me want to not get stuck. Should me take me skid plate off?"

Ill just take it off and put the stock back on.

IT looks like it's mounted funny????

May I recommend a PRM skid....:cool: Only time i get stuck is if the mud is 3 foot deep but never from getting hi-centered..

I would go with rico on this one, next time try to not get a skidplate that is all the way flat across the bottom, most just go down to cover the brake disc and sprocket.

Not to sound like a wise *****, but maybe you should
pick your lines more wisely. Looks as if you could
have placed your left front tire on that middle rut
and leaned right to stay on that side hill.

Yeah, I picked that same line. Right under my left rear in the picture is a divit that I didnt see that sent me into the spin.

I think these skidplates are just crap. As for the comment about it being mounted wrong, Ill take a look at it tomorrow.

Most likely I will replace it with a stock one. The stock one was grated, and I am thinking rather than dig into the center, it will skid over.

Perry, My buddy just bought the kind that is recessed in
the middle. The bad thing about them is they bend like
a stock skid, up into your sprocket and disc.
Aluminum only bends so much until it breaks.
The worst thing that can happen with your design is
snapping bolts, but thats unlikly. X-factor makes a
skid that sits high/closer to your swingarm, K&Katv
has them. Your not alone. My skid is wasted, and I hit
rocks all the time.

when u adjust ur chain witht the axle carrier the skid plate moves up and down with it, u can just adjust ur axle carrier so u can raise the skid plate up, then just cut ur chain or what ever has to be done so u can keep ur aftermarket skid on. that or just go back to stock,

Yeah man, That hill looks like it has pletty of 1/2 good lines. And STock skid plate isnt really worth having. nore is an AC. I just purchased a PRM Z-plate from C&Dracing. And from what i here thats the way to go!!!!!!!!

You might want to take a look at Pro Armor also. I have been having really good luck with them this year.
