Alright well it is kind of hard but not extremley hard.

1. You need custom exhaust built, pipe/silencer.
Call Dyno Port Racing.

2. Motor Mounts and a swingarm bolt.

3. A gas switch, so you can pull it up for off and down for on.

The quad is really light with the motor in it.

I also suggest motor work to, mine has porting and polishing done to it.

Also Walsh didnt do any of this conversion.

I bought it off of Todd Cox's friend and then we did the conversion.

Let me Know if you need any help on it and you can reach me on aim at Gabriel 22 Racin

No.

The pipe will not work, the pipe/silencer will have to be custom made by them.

Here is a picture.

Why are you doing this? Its kind of funny,
I'd like to put a 250r or yz250 engine in my
Blaster, but why a Blaster engine in a 250r frame?

Coffman, Thanks for the offer, but I'd probably

There is a very very logical reason for this. the blaster motor can make pretty good power hell that is the wheeler i started on but the chassis is WAY to short and doesnt handle all that great IMO so if you are truly a competitive racer(nationals) there is a blaster class that you can run. and almost all tracks have a blaster class. so here it is you have a legal motor for the class with the best handling chassis ever built ? make sense now?

Can anyone elaborate on the type of swing arm bolt needed for this?

I have one for sale, its a 1986 trx250r frame with title, with a LRD 240cc national blaster motor and a lrd pipe and silencer, quad is super nice and done right, was built by Tony Keltner, motor was built by Arlen at LRD, call if interested, 443-250-4755, jerry

You should call BDT. Rob Selvy works there now and he used to Own Selvy Performance. They specialized in de boring the 250r to 200cc. They ran like a raped ape, and would compete against blasters.

I like this idea. great handling, light machine with one of the simplest motors out there. You can build plenty of power out of blaster motor when done right.

Maybe, but you can build more out of a liquid cooled over air cooled every time.

Burns,
that little ol A/C 200 might be old school, but can be turned into a monster that will "eat" 450 4 pokes, that is if it has a rider can take it there.
What would you think, if I said 52 wheel hp was possible on a 195cc AMA legal blaster engine ;).

I believe you that they can be built to serious power. But given the same displacement for a blaster motor and a 250r motor, the R motor should be able to output more power due to being liquid cooled correct?

C-LEIGH RACING

That Rs going to be strong what ever cc its built to, but running the old A/C blaster engine beside another 2 stroke not the issue, its puttng them suppose to be something so special 4 pokers in their place is the real deal.

Shucks, a little 125 2 stroke dirt bike, would probably put most highly built 2 strokes to shame, but we all know that so its not that big of a deal, but take that 125 & a good rider & go out & smoke some of them top ATV Pro riders on their pumped up 450 factory back rides & see what happens.
The real killer, that little 125, probably not one quarter the end cost of that factory 450 ride.
Thats what Rob Selvy did years ago, woke the factorys up real quick.

OP, there is a guy in Worcester, MA that if i remember correct has a 250r frame already setup for a blaster, not sure about exhaust and other parts. If your interested i can try to see if it is still available. Let me know.

Edit: just realized OP was 9 years ago. Oh well

I have been looking for a lead on information for this project for weeks now. Thanks for the heads up. The real challenge has been finding a pipe that will work out of the box, or one that has already been handrolled. I hit up a couple of shops recommended on this thread, which was really helpful, but I was hoping someone had one already completed. The other "hard to find part" has been a swing arm that has already been cut so the motor lines up. If anyone has a bike I would be willing to talk. I also have some trades available.

if anyone can get pics and post them I have one that is done, very cool quad, looks like a lot of modifying to the chassis to get it to work properly, I am selling a Tony Keltner built 1986 frame with custom mounts, lrd 240 national motor, lrd exhaust and silencer and swinger as a package to build the quad. lmk, 443-250-4755.
