+2 or +3 a-arms

I am about to order elka long travel shocks and houser a-arms and wanted to know whats the best size to get. I ride motorcross mostly. If I dont go to a track I ride open areas never trails.

If you go with the +3, then run some 4+1 offset wheels. If you go with +2 then run stock or 3+2 offset wheels. You will love the long travel setup!

I would not get +3. In a ATV Action they had +3 on a 400EX and the said the Bars wanted to Rip out of their Hands. Even Gary Denton said he would like to try +2`s. I think the +3 A-Arms are to Big for a 400EX. The Guy at Nac`s told my Brother he would be Breaking Ball Joints all the Time with +3`s. The +3 Arms are mostly for the Pro`s with the Narrow Front Frames. I would get +2`s. You are getting Long Travel huh?

You cant always belive what you read in magazines. The pros with the narrow front ends run +4 aarms(tpin) witht he 4-1 offset. I belive the lobo is +3 aarms and you never hear people complaine about them on 400s.

I don`t Believe the Mags, but the +3 A-Arms are Huge. I would get +2. It`s your Choice.

if you get plus three you should get the 4+1 wheels. It ill make your arms like plus 2 but with much better handling.

Thats what i have, +3's with a 4 + 1 offset front wheels. I think it works great. Its a lot wider, but i haven't had anything like the bars wanting to rip out of my hands

NJ300EX is Right. You want the 4+1 Rims with the +3`s. You get the Extra Travel of the +3, but you have the Width of +2. That`s what the CC Guys do, they get +1 A-Arms for the Travel and then get 4+1 Rims to get the Quad back to Stock Width.

Hey, well i got the hammertone aarms, probably the black with gold bodied elkas and red lines, i think itll look good, probably have it all together in 2-3 weeks!!! cant wait....
what else would you guys recomend as far as shocks go??? i like elka but looking for more choices, i would buy pep if i could get them without the wait.....

Yeah i hope to get it all lookin good hahah, i havent got an axle yet, ill wait till the stock one bends then im gettin Lonestar or RPM.... yeah we do have alot of pull with pep and i knwo they rock so i might just go with some peps all around, yet i am getting the JB +1.25 swing as soon as i get the front paid off haah
yes i am racing the locals around here... and probably Red Bud and High Point.... i live SUPER close to Fox Raceway (the track where bean jumps in the pond from Huevos 3) my family basiclly owns it... i was thinking... we should have a group ride this summer up around here i have like 5 AWESOME tracks we could go to.... ask jcv400 or CBRSlider, there are some SWWWWWEEEEEETTT local trackes around here

Which PEP Shocks would ou get? The Race, Limited Mass, or ZPS? You might as well just get the ZPS. That`s what your Uncle will tell you to get.

That would be Cool to have a Ride out there. I`m not thinking I would want to Jump all of the Jumps though. You will have to have Dana come over for that. We could go to TC`s Shop too. That would be Fun.

If you get PEP I would go with the ZPS. You could get ZPS Fronts and have the Stock Rear Converted to ZPS, unless you want a whole New Rear. I wish I could get PEP Shocks in Four Weeks.

At the end of last year oct, nov, dec, you could get peps in 5-6weeks. I am sure that the wait will be that fast again this year that time. Now the wait is so long because everyone ordered the shocks for the race season, and if your name isnt farr, gust or creech they forget about your order.

Im gettin a sparks x-6 lonestar axle brake lines walsh LT a arms and pep or elka front shocks and rear conversion depending on the wait. All this depends if i get my good job too.

Elka will never have a wait like PEP. There are alot more places to have Elka shocks valved then PEP. I would think the wait would be worth it for PEP ZPS shocks though. Not really that long of a wait especially if you do it in the winter.

NJ300ex is Right. I don`t think Elka will ever have that Long of a Wait. I don`t know, if Elka gets their Name out more they might be like PEP some day. I think the Wait for PEP ZPS is Nuts. I`m sure in the End it would be Worth it, but none of us really need PEP ZPS. Baldwin told my Brother to get Limited Mass because they Work better for Local Racing then the ZPS do. ZPS are made to Lower the Ride Height, but they are also for Big Jumps. Baldwin said they don`t do real do on Small Jumps because they have to Extend Fully in Soak up the Hits and with little Jumps they don`t have enough time to do that. If you go with PEP, ask Baldwin which Shocks to get. I think he will say Limited Mass. I would like to have PEP`s, but I don`t want to Wait that Long and I don`t have the Extra $300.

Well I was told by houser that the +3 with the 4+1 offset wheels handle the best. He said it helps the bump steer too. So I am going with the +3 houser a-arms and the elka quad rate long travel shocks. I still dont know if i am getting comp adjust only or fully adjust.

If you go long travel then get the rebound adjuster too. If you stick with the standard length shocks don't get the rebound adjusters, you will loose about 1.5" of travel.

How much would a 400ex frame cost if an aftermarket company built one......how much does a laeger frame go for....or a walsh, ect. OEM is around $400...right?

I know Laeger`s YZ440 and CRF450 Frames are $2630 from Baldwin. I think the 400ec would be the same because they Laeger would have to Custom Build it. Again on Walsh it would be the Price of the Frame and then the Custom Engine. Lonestar`s is $2310. I`m not sure what this LRD one Costs.

I will take a few of the way i used my airbox cause i had to custom make where i wanted to mount the electronics and stuff. I think this one lookes better than any airbox cause it does not stick out like the other ones. But it doesnt hold the electronics as good as others. Still like mine better though.
