I just installed a HMF Bill Ballance slip-on on my 450r.I was going to remove my air box lid completely and go with the recommended 180 main jet. However, because of the type of riding that I do I decided to leave my lid on and install 6 of the Uni vents that are 1" in diameter each.My question is to anyone who is running a similar set-up what main jet did you go with?I know the 450r really needs more fuel when you remove the air box lid but I am wondering where a good starting point would be for a vented lid.
Thanks in advance.

Try a 170 first. We've found that no two bikes are alike. Two 450Rs both have HMF full exhaust and HRC style lids, one takes a 165 the other a 175. Go figure.A 170 should get you in the ballpark.

I run a HMF slip on with the HRC Kit airbox lid and a 180 main jet and HRC kit needle.

Thanks for the replies.I also forgot to mention that I do not have the HRC cam and the air filter is stock.I picked up a 170,172 and 175 main from the dealer yesterday so I will go with the 170 for starters.
