Me and my brother both have brand new 2002 400EX's. We have been looking into three slip-on exhausts so far. We have been thinking about buying the Pro-Circuit T-4, the White Brothers E-Series, or the R-Series. Which one of these three will give them most power and is the easiest to tune (carburetor wise). I dont care about sound, I just want the power. Also, is a twin-air filter good for mud and dusty conditions, or would the K&N with an outerwear be a better bet, cause there is a bit of mud where I ride but not alot. Any help would be appreciated.

Is Sound a Problem? If not, I would go with the TC Slip-On. It is a Racing Pipe and will add more Power then the other Three. As for the Filter, I have a K&N and like it. It`s not the Mud that is a Problem with the K&N, it`s Dust.

Is the dust still a problem if you use an outerwear on the filter? And I was really looking at the Pro Circuit T-4, cause that one is less expensive. Any feedback on that pipe??

With the Outerwear it`s not Bad. You just need to Clean your Filter after every Ride if it`s Dusty. I Ride with a Guy that has the Full Pro Circuit and he likes it. I think it`s a Good Pipe.

warriorman,
If you don't mind me asking, how much does that TC pipe cost? Is there a wait from TC on getting it? I am thinking about buying another slipon just so I can change them every now and then.. Later,
Justin

I got a 2002 400ex also, heres the deal i got the Pro Circuit t-4 slip on silencer, keep your stock header belive me!! this sucker gives so much more power, change jet to 158 main jet and hang on tight, your friends will get off your machine and say no more!!

There is a huge differnce in power with the stock jet in it, but your toying with danger if u leave it in, you run a little to lean, keep the 158 main idling hi not to high, but high enough, cause your dumping more fuel in the engine. she starts right up to, but dont pump to much she floods a little easier, also when u start up your machine u will notice that u need to give a little gas.
i race motorcross and was looking for something that would feed a little more speed to my ride, so far that is excellent, u just watch the jumps u hit now will be hit in a lower gear and send u farther! oh yea and check out how fast u come off the line!! It is a known fact that not to many people know, Pipes do not give u more horsepower, its physically impossible, Tuned pipes such as the T-4, help to make your engine work a bit faster and better, if u want to learn more go to HOWSTUFFWORKS.com and check out their article on Exhaust pipes, youll be surprised what u thought an exhaust pipe did, but then realize you were totally wrong, plus you come out with a bigger better understanding!!

ALL IN ALL go with the T-4, youll thank me and yourself in the end, oh yea and that little monster in your 400ex will thank u for releasing him!!!

Don't forget Big Gun and Yoshimura.

The WB E-Series is prone to breaking a weld at the front exhaust hanger.

Is it OK if I say that?

Warriorman,

I have the WB E-series. This is a good pipe and I got good gains out of it, but I want one that is really loud, haha. My buddies raptor has the Sparks and it is very loud. I just want the freedom to switch pipes when I want. Did you have to cut any of your stock head pipe or was it a direct fit?

KaneMan, You will be Happy with the TC Pipe. It should be Louder then the Sparks too. I have to go get my 400 Today. You have to Cut 5-1/2 Inches off your Stock Headpipe. He would have to Buy another Stock Header to use the White Bros. You would like the TC.

Chad, You better hope Tom is Saving you a Pipe.

HondaQuadMan, How do you like it? Where do you think it Adds the Most Power? It has a Great Sound. I got mine back today. I have a 150 Main in mine with a 42 Pilot. What Pilot are you Running? It`s a Great Pipe, Buy It.

All of you that are on a tight budget, Check out HMF slip ons. They run for like $189 and put out good results. They are not the best pipe made, which can be debated for hours, yet they are of high quality and reasonably priced.

OCCRA228, Do you have the TC?

Which of these two would be a better pipe for a 416or 425 with port work and a fcr carb and a tc cam or web 450/451.

Well I would say the TC and a Hetrick Pipe Guy will say Hetrick. Get what you like Best.
