when i sit on my quad and move side to side it moves allot. so i went to the back and moved it and it looks like the axle is loose. is it losse? do i nedd new barrings or what?if i need new bearings can i do it my self?

sounds like you need new bearings in your carrier.... yes you can do it yourself.... you may want to buy a service manual like Clymer's that will walk you through it step by step

will i need special bearings because i have an after market carrier. but i dont know what brand it is

Most likely if it is an aftermarket carrier it is a double row carrier like Lonestar, Baldwin and everyone makes. The only other possiblility is that it could be a tapered carrier like mine, but not alot of people run those. My guess is that you have a double row carrier. Remove the bearings and see. If it is dual row you can get replacements from Lonestar, Baldwin, or anyone who makes them, but I would call those 2 first. Inspect your centertube while the carrier is apart and see if that needs replacing too. You can usually buy an entire rear end rebuild kit with the bearings and centertube, or just get the bearings separately if the centertube is not worn...

You want to avoid buying those cheap bearing rebuild kits off of ebay because they are real crummy bearings and will toast themselves quick...

what ive always done when my bearings went out is took them to a local electric motor repair shop and got new ones. you can order them about anyway you want them double sealed, what ever abec you want just about anything and its cheaper too:D

what is the best website for ordering the bearing kit and the cheapest spent over 300 dollars on new plastics. Allso does the kit come with directions. or can i count on u to walk me through step by step? thanks

if i were to bring it to my local honda shop how much would it be to replace the bearings and the labor?

so can u guys help me take the axle off. i could prolly figure it out from there.how do you get that big bolt on the right off the brake disk off?
