coating the cylinder after a re-bore.

Do any of you guys re-coat the cyclinder on your quads after you have done an over bore kit? I have been reading a little bit about getting the cylinder crome plated, or nickel plated, or even nickel silicon carbide coated. What do you guys do? What do you recommend?

Depends on the quad.

If you have a 400EX then no- it has a cast iron sleeve that does not require plating.

250R - no, same as above.

LTZ, 450R, YFZ --- Yes - these models have aluminum cylinders and MUST be recoated if you bore them out.

i had my piston coated on my 400ex. it hopefully will be back together in a week or two. who knows if it will help or not.
