how much trouble is it to convert fuel enjection over to carb. I know you will need a carb. but what else is involved? The motor is a 454, its in a 1990 chevy pickup

to tell you the truth, i dont actually know yet. It was an option. this truck has problems getting gas, and we think the computer in it is messed up. My s10 had the same problem and we had to buy a computer, it was 500 bucks. wondering if this would be cheaper or just buy a new computer.

to switch to a carb you will at least need a new intake manifold, carb throttle linkage, assorted vacuum lines (for downshifting/kick down if automatic), and probably some more stuff too, but i cannot think of anymore...

just buy a new computer better gas milage and cheaper easier and better for tuning plus you will still need a computer to control everything else in the car.
carb intake manifold filter thottle cable everything that was used on the carborated car

Go to the boneyard and get the intake and all the linkage from a carbuerated big block, shouldn't be that much....

i just did this last year, i know what is involved!!

intake manifold
carb
linkage bracket
guts for the tank, since theres a check valve that wont let the electric fuel pump pull the gas out.
prob distributor, cause the old style on chevy are bigger, i kept the small one on though, was told i shoulda changed it.
numerous fuel line,steel and rubber
thermostat
air cleaner for the carb
intake gasket
maybe electric fuel pump, cause injected trucks are in the tank.
oil change
radiator fluid change
oil filter
fuel filter

i say just spend the 500 on the new computer, by the time you do all this youl have more than that invested and
a LOT,LOT of hours of labor, i wished id never done it..jmo btw the truck was a 87 chevy reg cab 1/2 ton 4x4

Sure you didn't put two 2 barrel Webers on that 4 cyl, or two 3 barrels if it's a 914-6?
