i have had my 450r since feb and now when shifting from 1st to sencond it wants to go in neutral whether lugging or at high speed. it also doesn't matter whether i shift hard or not. and sometimes it gets in between gears like between 2nd and 3rd.

does anyone else have this problem or have a suggestion. thanks

HHHHMHMHMHMHMHMMMM

very interesting

do you power shift the bike alot?

maybe you're not shifting positively, but u did say it didn't matter if you shifted hard.

how often do you change the trans fluid? changing it to often in a trans can be worse than not changing it at all.

just my 2 cents, but i'm an idiot so don't believe me!!!!!

hahahahahhahahhahhahhaa:huh

i only power shift when drag racing and thats not very often. i change my trans fuild everytime i change my oil- once a month.

is that true? changing your transmission fluid too much is worse then not changing it at all? why is this?

The only time I have issues is when I miss the shift and donot fully get the tranny in the next gear. If I ride my wifes bike the shifter throw is so long I miss the shift quite often. IMO you cant change the oil to much I change mine every two or three rides.

How could changing trans fluid too much be bad, I think you have wacked up sources LOL:p

Try adjusting your shifter lever down a notch or two. I f it is too high, you may not be pulling it up all of the way and missing shifts and hitting neutral between gears. Worked for me.

no, the fluild needs a bit of clutch burn in it.

how often do you change the trans fluid in your car????
more than the motor oil i don't think so. look in your manual, the interval reccomendation is, (i haven't looked in a while) almost twice that of the motor.

i know it's different but the same basic principle applies.

don't tell me i got whacked out info i read.
MY INFO MAY NOT BE RIGHT I ADMIT. BUT THIS QUAD THING AIN'T MY FIRST RODEO.

When you read your manual it tells you quantities of oil to put in. If you notice you will put more oil in the tranny side after clutch replacement meaning that all the oil does not drain when changing fluids.
