I am hunting for a set of skids for my new TRX. I found a good deal on an AC chassis skid that is an 1/8 inch thick. If I will be desert, woods, and dune riding is an 1/8 inch skid going to be good enough for the chassis? I am going to go with the AC racing skid .190 thick and I think that feels pretty thick.... but that may be over kill for the chassis. I am new to quads so I am sure I will have TONS of dumb questions just like this one :D

Thanks

Ok, but is a 1/8 inch good for the chassis or should I try to find something a little thicker?
Thanks

if your not going to be pounding rock it will be ok, but 1/8 is or should be primarily a mx plate.

Thanks

ac egine skids come in either .125 or .160. the swing arm skids are all made out of .250 now. i put a .125 engine on my 450r and it lasted and is still on there after we did the vegas to reno race. the rear skid is still on there as well. id post a pic but i have been having prolems with my on line picture storage
