is the 86-87 cdi box different from 88-89 cdi box? will the 88-89 box work on a 86? cause on my 86 i have an HB9 cdi and i don't have spark and was wondering if thats the problem

they are slightly different, but will work, the same. on the dyno you will notice a slight performance enhancement. have you checked you stator, that usally the culprit, the pick-up coil.

we took a meter and checked everything and everything checked out. we couldn't check the box with it so we figure its that

when my stator went everything checked out fine, but I knew from previous experiences from my friends that its the stator pick-up coil, is your spark plug boot good? connections clean? I had another stator so it wasn't a bid deal the change out.
