pipe for 300?

i dont know what pipe to get for my 300 i cant deside between the e-series,megamax,or the powercore 4. does anyone have any suggestions?

yeah...i dont like my FMF Q(its cut 5 inches) so its pretty much a powerdore four....if you dont have a noise issue where you ride get the sparks if you do get an HMF with a queit core...i heard those are pretty queit

WEll I've got a FMF Megamax but now w/ my mods I'm thinking of getting something different so guess I'm in the same boat as you LOL ;) I've heard if you have mods the Yoshi is a great pipe!! Too bad they are sooooooo spendy but i suppose they may be worth it. Good luck let us know what ya go w/

I just purchased the powercore for my 97 300ex but havent installed it yet. It seemed to be the best out of the fmf line. Hopefully, I will be able to get it installed by Wednesday but I will have to jet mine to get the benefit. I was wondering if I would see a benefit from an aftermarket cdi/rev box? I figured you might want to know too, since you are getting a full exhaust.

yea i think i might go w/ the sparks w/ the spark arrestor..is this pipe really loud? and does the spark arrestor help the sound level..but where could i purchase it? i looked on their site but i dont think u can buy from there site.

The spark arrestor wont help the sound. Sparks aren't really loud on the 300ex but they are throaty.

I would get a sparks over HMF, HMF only makes slip-ons for the 300ex. Sparks makes a one piece full system.

C&D has add's all over the site, usually at the top of the page. They will give ya a great deal!

I see you have already made up your mind and are going with the sparks pipe. I have to say you should be very happy with the performance and looks of it. I am more than happy with mine and probably won't buy anything but a sparks pipe in the future.

Do you have any proof or reasoning why FMF sux? Maybe for the racer but for the casual weekend warrior or rather EX'er the FMF should be great. Why would one pipe be that much worse than the other?

Deff. go with a Curtis Sparks x-4. I ordered mine from CD and they were very helpful and quick with the delivery. Also offered a very reasonable price. I love mine its not overly loud but offers quickness and a really throaty tone. HIt it up man u wont regret it, Oh and it looks kickass too

I have had the fmf and now the HMF slip on and my opinion the HMF has more of a power gain from mid to top end than the fmf and you could use a header pipe from enyone if you want it!


most riders cant tell the difference in a slip on! yes a full exh does make a diff though.
Honestly get what ever pipe fits your needs,and sound levels my Hmf is real loud! alot of places have restrictions on the db level!

my friend has a yoshi on his 400ex i think the sparks sounds similar, a wb i cant help ya with. but for the price u cant beat the sparks sound and looks.:D get one man im tellin ya youll love it.
This is a holeshot i pulled earler this year on my 300 (black quad)
with nothin but the sparks kn filter and jets. Improved my throttle response and quickness. Yes that is a 400ex, kfx400, yfz450, and another 300ex behind me. not braggin just tryin to tell ya it helps a good bit..

They are pretty close. The Sparks sound is awesome but a quiet core would be nice. My old Cobra and many DG's I've heard are louder though. I think the spark arrestor helps a little.

It is if you want to ride state parks. It also helps if you live in a dry area. Where I live it can get very dry in late summer and I wouldn't want to burn my field out back or any parks either.:eek2:

had a dg and it was just plain ear rattlin, IMO hmf is the way to go, i rejetted with it and i can tell a difference in throttle responce from low to mid, i plan on getting a white bros. head pipe to open it up more. if i ever need another it will be hmf also:D :devil:

i went with the E series. i have one on the Z and have been pleased with it, so hopefuly it's just as good on the 300.

Just ordered my HMF pipe, jet kit, power core, spark arrestor. I plan on a UNI Filter, Cycra Hand guards, and Razor 2s all around. I can't wait to get my pipe, stock sucks and is heavy. HMF really answered all my questions and were great, everyone raves about their power. Lastly Bill Ballance runs one, need I say more!!!

i just put my HMF and WB header on about 1 hour ago it sounds and looks so sick i put the Q core in bcuz its LOUD w/ out it and i could feel a slite power increase when i rode ill try and post a soundclip

Quit it, I am waiting anxiously for my pipe for a week now. I just ordered the air filter, Razor 2s all around to go with my slip on. So stop rubbing in the fact you have your pipe, I am riding all day tomorrow stock if I don't get it tonight. I want loud and powerful.
