i have noticed that everything on my r can come clean and look brand new with a simple washing with the steam geanie... but WTF.!! just like on my 03 ex.. my stock axle is tarnishing, and it seems to be turning grey,..,. i knew that it wass going to do this cause its what happened on my ex... and it seems the more i try to clean it the more grey it gets and its pissing me off.. i dont want a new axle i just want the stock one not to look so old... does anyone else have this problem, or has anyone found any secrets like household chemicals that can bring back the luster,(more of an aluminum look) to the axle... any help would be appreciated... i have tried everything from, cleaners to wd 40 and everything, and its just seems to get worse.. :huh

These are off-road vehicles, used in harsh environments - not show cars. Ride it, enjoy it, clean it up a bit and stop worrying about the little stuff...

i used mothers and speedys polish on my 250x axle, i just put it on some jacks and had some1 move the rear wheels and polished, it didnt take too long but it looked soo nice :D , btw it helps to stay on top of things like that, i repolish my whole bike everyweekend, usually every day :p

Mothers brand polishing paste is the best. It will bring up everything from the grab bars to the motor.

I prop it up on a block, start it and in first or second let it spin and take a grey 3M pad on a angle grinder and it polishes great.
I polished almost everything I could.
Rear subframe, swingarm, shifter, kicker, hubs, caliphers and I still want to do the radiator, cooler and some on the motor. For now I like riding to much so this winter it will get torn down again.
