I was looking into getting some wider a-arms for my 400ex. Anyone have any suggestions for a quality A-arm for little money?? i already have a +2 rear axle and im not sure how wide to go with the front a-arms, +2 maybe??

I ride a lot of trails and sand pits, so i would like it to be good for both handleing in sand and fit through trees in the woods.

I'd get +1's if you do a lot of woods riding. Check out JD performance. They have a arms for around 500 bucks. You could also check out Burgard's, they are around 400 bucks. You'll have to get new shocks too. If you already have aftermarket shocks, you need to get them revalved. Hope this helps.

do you HAVE to get new shocks or will the stock ones work?

stock will work

stock shocks from the 400ex are not good...I would invest in some works shocks for +1 & then when you save up some more $$$ get the +1 aarms...then you will be good to go

Stock suspension will be really soft on extended a-arms.

really soft as in bottoming out when you jump, or soft as in this feels like a caddilac on these whoops. I do jump and hillclimb a lot so i dont want it to bottom out.

You would bottom out MUCH easier. Get the works shocks and some a arms. That's a very affordable way to go.
