400ex Floats?

My 400ex leaks gas everytime I go up a hill, pull a wheelie, go over a whoop, or when I'm traveling. Mine is a 99, but on a 00, we got a new float from the Honda shop. It was like 35 bucks! The new float solved the problem, but I want to get it at a cheaper price, like at Service Honda, but they have 2 floats. 1 is for the 99-00, and the other is till 04. To solve my problem, which one should I get? Is the 99-00 float the same, or is it improved? Also, Are the carbs any different from 99-04? It is starting to make me mad, becuase my tank is empty within an hour or two. Has anyone else had this problem?

P.S. I know that the float level is too high, and that any disturbance cuases is to come out of the over flow.

you need the 01 and newer. they re-did the float or float pin or something like that in 01. the 00's still have the problem.
