I installed a curtis sparks timning advance in my 400ex yesterday and when I was finished there was a loud humming/buzzing coming from the left side case. Took it apart and didnt see anytthing wrong. Put it back together just like it should be and still makes the noise when I rev the engine. HELP!!! The only thing I can think of is that I didnt get the fylwheel teeth matched up with the little gear teath that drives the starter, or it is supposed to sound that way. I also changed the oil and am now running a thinner weight oil, and synthetic. Mabey the sound is just carrying more now??

Must be just you noticing a different sound b/c of the synthetic. I can't think of anything you really could screw up putting the deegree key in (and still run).
