I put 2 quarts and the dip oil stick is towards the top where it reads "upper" but not all the way to the top. Is this enough because I want to make sure I put in enough oil. Thanks

No I didnt, just started it up and quickly checked it again. I guess it has to be warmed up to be more accurate?

Let it run for about 2-5 minutes. Shut it off and let it set for 2 minutes then check the oil.

I don't think it matters
I don't think you can overfill it because they do sell oil tanks that hold an extra quart.
Im no expert though

If it didn't matter, than why would the manual say how much to put in?? Also the oil tanks you are talking about are MADE to hold extra oil, which makes the motor run cooler.

I think its 1.7 quarts.

I got the cfm larger oil tank on the way. Once thats installed, its gonna be 2.7 quarts.

I put 1.8 in mine just like the manual says I let it warm up for about 5 mins and it doesnt even reach the stick. I put another 1/2 in a then it goes all the way to the top. I drain some access out maybe 1/4 and let it warm up and its right in the middle. Run it around for a while and its not touching the stick. This doesnt make much sence. Are we sure that manual is not refering to the oil tank to hold 1.8? How much does the engine hold? Whats the sum of the two?

im not trying to be a jackass or anything but why is this question so common?

put about what the manual says to put it, check it, then add or leak some out accordingly...

You will want to put more than what I drained out after my motor seized...which conatined about an 1/8 of a quart:o Put 2 in and be happy. Manual says like 1.8, so if you put the whole 2 in, if you burn a little you have nothing to worry about;)
