Ok well right now i have a 2003 honda civic si and its lowered and its just not for towing a fourwheeler.... I've decided i have to get another quad ive missed them so much ever since i sold mine...Well heres the problem, im gonna try and get like 15500 outta the car and i want to try and get a trx450r or the yfz450....Soooooo what cars or truck can i get for around 10k with under 30k miles (damnit mom!!!!wtf!!!) That can tow a fourwheeler and ahold 4 people....I know the answer is practically nothing but i figured you guys might have some sort of idea.. Oh yeah it cant be gay either it has to look somewhat apealing to the eyes.

Yeah if it were up to me id just get a 97-98 240sx and use that it has a 1k lb towing capacity plus its a tight little car however my parents have the final decision since they bought the civic. BUt the problem is mileage my parents are being a ***** about it having under 30k so im ****ed i guess...:( Oh yeah and the civic just wont cut it taking it on the dirt roads at croom.

Maybe it won't look good enough for you but if it were me, I'd get like a 00 or 01 taurus. You can pick em up everyday for around 8-9 thou with 40,000 or so miles.

Cheaper than imports, and will last 300,000 miles or more if you change the oil regular.

Get a Geo Metro and strap it to the top.
Great gas mileage, holds four people, haul a quad, under 10grand, and with all the extra cash you can pimp it and the quad out.

My question is why you need to haul 4 people and only 1 quad?

A lot of the towing is going to depend on the trailer. If you get a trailer small enough for just a single quad, you can actually tow it behind a 4-cylinder car. But if you get a 1500lbs dual-axle trailer, you're going to need a full-size pickup to tow that thing.

A mid-size truck like a Ford Ranger or something might be your ticket, with an extended cab. 2 people in the rear will be a little cramped, but it's certainly possible. And 6-cylinders is enough to pull a mid-size trailer, and also gets decent gas mileage, probably around 20 mpg or so. It's possible to put a quad in the bed, or fill it with gear. And if you need something cool, they lift nicely. If you DO go with Ford Ranger, I'd highly suggest the manual shift. The automatic trannies have had some issues.

technicly, the rangers and s-10 only hold 1 in the back b/c of the 3rd door theres not a seat on one side

around here i c 1997 Chevy 1500s goin for like 7k.. does mileage really matter?! my old car had 87k miles!!

Well it has to be able to hold 4 people b/c me and my friends ride together alot to go to places like just around town and ****. The mileage isnt a factor to me as much as it is for my parents (Mom specifically). I guess beggers cant be choosers lol :(....I wanted one of those scion xb's (the gay box car that hardly anyone likes) however it makes it clear that the car is not for towing even though its based completely on the toyata echo except for the body and the echo is rated at 1k lbs towing cap. i believe... But the dealer told my mom i cant tow with it and she was like no your not getting it...Damn parents right! Nah my parents are great but thank god im moving out in aug. woohoo! Ok guys good ideas lets here some more!!!!

I bought my first quad when I was 17 and I had a 88' GrandAM
w/ a 2.5l. I had a little trailer that would hold 2 300EX's sideways.
Anyways it ran hard and had no problem pulling a trailer.

07-23-2004, 12:28 PM
those scions were given some good reviews by a few people (MotorTrend)...like the "what you are getting & what you actually paid" factor...

Get you a late model suv of some type. You are going to pull a trailer! So you really do not need a bed! Explorer, Blazer, Hell I know where there is a swweeeeeeettt black durango at for 11,000 that has 31,000 miles. Its a 1998 but hey it still in great shape. You can find these you just have to put some effort into!

Good luck

id go with a toyota tacoma or just any toyota truck if you can find them with that low milage may want to look for a truck with just alottle more milage. or an suv explorer jeep etc. i had a 91 explorer and other than normal stuff like stater battery there were no problems with it until the tranny started to go but that was at 220000+ miles
