What should i expect power and suspension wise from an 04 trx450r? Do i need the hrc kit if im going to race desert?

I took mine out to plaster city .CA on sunday and All I say is that be ready for the rear suspension to want to buck you and no don't the HRC kit and get sparks cam and buy a pipe they are the same if not better.

What is wrong with the rear shock? Should i replace it with an aftermarket one or can it be fixed with preload adjustment?

some people are putting a new linkage on the rear suspension and get it revalved, you don't have to you can adjust the preload and all that other stuffyou should look and the manual to mess with it to get it right. I am going to try after I try mine again in the dunes to see what I can do.
