Is it ok to use chain saw chain oil on the chain on my quad? That is what I have laying around, and i was just wondering if it would work.

the chain oil for a saw bar is thick, it will hold alot of dirt and sand on the chain and act as an abrsive causing premature wear.

I agree. Just stick with WD-40 on O-ring chains..:cool:

Ill second that... What you DONT want to do is use chain "wax" like Maxima and some others make. That stuff attracts dirt and will gum up your entire rear end especially if you get a little overspray on your swingarm it gets really caked up. Once that happens youll be on all fours scrubbing it off for days like Cinderella...
