I had the dunlops off of the yfz450 on my 300 and now my 400. Great all around tire. You'll lose some speed dropping from a 22 to a 20 inch tire, but not nearly as much as you think. On rutted tracks the 20's would be a better choice.

Tamers will wear like any other two ply tire, very fast. I would get some kenda klaw xcr's. I have a set of kendas and tamers, both great tires. Just depends on what type of riding you'll be doing.

Tamers arent good for trails...

If you race MX alot and trails alittle, I'd use Razr MX's for both...if you ride trails alot and a little MX, Use some 20" Razr's..

Plus the kendas can be turned around for either soft or harder terrain!

are the klaw xcrs low profile or are they big....like my 22inch razrs? i want some lower profile tires so it will give it that "racing look" lol if anyone has pics of 20 inck kenda xcrs on a quad please post pics! thanks alot:)

If I was you I wuold go w/ the Razrs 6 ply, we've had them on our 400 for 3 years now & they are still in GREAT shape, never had a flat & it's been on some rough stuff!! DO NOT go w/ a 18 for trails!! You won't clear anything, I just got a set of rims so I can run the stock ones off the 400 on my 300, then I also bought a pair of 22's off a guy don't know if I'll run those might be too high!! Also might try the fast trekkers they look pretty good!

If its not hardcore trails go with 18's heres your options

Hardcore racing/ Play trail riding = 18's but u gotta get a skid

More trail/ just play racing = 20's

or just get another set of wheels like i did and have 20's and 18's and a skid plate thats the best solution.

IMO thats the best thing to do, I have 3 rim/tire sets now, one w/ 18 flattrack tires/race rings, one w/ 18" tamers & now I just got some 9" rims to put some stock 400 tires on for trails, or I could put a set of stock 300 22"s but think those are a little overkill ;)

I just got a set of fast trekkers, I’ve rode them maybe 2 hours and they are wearing really fast I’m kind of disappointed in them:( i was sure hoping they would last for awhile :(
