What are those little silver things screwed into the a-arms. i got these with my housers and i was wondering what they are for?? These are not my arms,,I found this pic

04-02-2002, 11:41 AM
It's called a grease zerk. you hook a grease gun to it and pump new grease into the a arm bushings.

ChadEXer
04-02-2002, 03:44 PM
I drag race a lot. There are hundreds of people that come to the drag races. One of my sponsors told me that they dont only like to sponsor riders at the national level. They also like to reach the riders on a local level.

Its all about the resume you make and the attitude you have also. one of my sponsors said my resume was the best resume they have ever read and they get hundreds every year!!!

Dave400ex

That should work for a while but keep some cash on the side for a new one,,cuz the torque and power that 505 is gonna put out will probaly toast the stocker within time,,there just not as good as aftermarket,,with better bearings. I'm not tellin ya to go get one or the stocker won't work,,but I've known a few guys that did motor work and within months there stocker carriers were trashed,,I'm thinkin my ole ladies gonna get me one for my B-day..:D

04-03-2002, 08:28 AM
Chad, That should make the Carrier last a little Longer, but Rico is right, you will have to get a New Carrier before Long. Durablue is your Sponsor so the Carrier shouldn`t Cost that much.

trx400ex
04-03-2002, 08:36 AM
but durablues carriers are alot more than anything else

ChadEXer
04-03-2002, 08:42 AM
After my sponsorship I think my cost is like $185 on a Dura Blue. i cant remember. If i have problems with it Ill definately get me a new one!!

Dave400ex
04-03-2002, 09:21 AM
$185 is Cheaper then Everybody else. I would get that. My Brother needs to get one for his 250r.

Foxrage
04-03-2002, 02:52 PM
I think thats one thing that should be replsed on 250r cause they are old and the clutch baskets.

hey CHADEXer i would really like to see apic of your machine sometime.i'm thinking of picking up a 400ex to next to my tecate and i'm looking for some good ideas.is that tc motor been pretty reliable so far.sounds nasty.

Dave400ex
04-03-2002, 07:39 PM
NACS, My Brother has a Complete Hinson Clutch Setup, but he does not have a New Carrier. I think the Swingarm, Carrier, Frame, and Radiator are the only Expensive Parts left that are Stock. He should have a New Swingarm, Front Shocks, and a Rear Rebuild before the End of the Year. He might even have a Arens Frame.

Chad`s 505 is not Done yet. His Motor is still at TC getting it Done.

Chad, I would check your a arm bushings since you ran them for awhile without grease. They might be worn.

Dave400ex
04-03-2002, 07:49 PM
I don`t think Chad rode with the A-Arms on. He just got the A-Arms. They are Brand New Housers. He will need to Grease them though.

Foxrage
04-04-2002, 04:19 AM
They are not even powder coated so i wouldnt ride with them.

Dave400ex
04-04-2002, 07:32 AM
Chad can`t Ride with them. TC has his Motor. I think he just put them on to see what they look like.

04-04-2002, 07:36 AM

Dave400ex
04-04-2002, 07:45 AM
How did you get it for so Cheap?

ChadEXer
04-04-2002, 08:32 AM
That is cheap. I havent put the housers on or anything. They are at the shop getting powdercoating. I will have pics of it as I put it back together in the TC 505 post in the open forum!
Here are the unfinshed housers before i took them to the powdercoating shop
I should get my other tie rod soon, I only had 1 when i got them but Terry took care of me. Terry is awesome

A good quad rider should only need 1 tie-rod...:D :D

heck you ain't gonna need no steering components anyway,,with that 505 kit,,,you'll be riding wheelies the whole time..

Dave400ex
04-04-2002, 09:10 AM
Yeah with the 505 the Front End won`t ever be on the Ground to be able to Steer.

04-04-2002, 11:42 AM

Foxrage
04-04-2002, 02:44 PM

Why does Everybody make such a Big Deal about Chad having Sponsors?

MadcapEX
04-04-2002, 07:20 PM
Not to kiss Chads butt, but it is possible to get companies to sponsor just about anything if you can convince them it is for a good cause. A guy I know has about 20 sponsors on his fishing boat.He fishes a couple local tournaments a year which he never wins because he is an idiot and cant fish, but he agreed to give half the winnings to charity and local businesses ate it up. He gets discounts on everything and most things free. Goes back to the old saying...'iF YOU CANT DAZZLE EM WITH KNOWLEDGE,BAFFLE EM WITH BULLSH#$!!

Dave400ex
04-04-2002, 08:24 PM
I agree. If you tell them all the Good things you are going to do then they will Sponsor you.

RideRed04
04-04-2002, 08:30 PM
Dont worry, with a 505, those trail claws will be drag slicks in one quick blip of the throttle!

Dave400ex
04-04-2002, 09:03 PM
The 505 would be a Great TT Quad too.

ChadEXer
04-05-2002, 07:36 AM
I agree with MadCap too!!! A few people have been giving me a hard time about me having sponsors. i think maybe ive given them the wrong idea by talking about them. I guess they think I am bragging about them. I am just so exited that a local racer can get sponsors too and didnt have nobody to share it with so I shared it with you guys! Sorry if i mislead a few of you.
I am looking for some better tires for dragging but havent decided on any yet. I was thinking Pro Wedges!

Dave400ex
04-05-2002, 07:42 AM
Well Chad I could see how you would be Happy. I wish I had Sponsors. Who cares if you Race or Not. They are there to get Good Prices on Parts and give Good Advice.

ChadEXer
04-05-2002, 08:32 AM
Just make a good resume and let them know what you will do to support their products
go to www.warpdriveperformance.com and you can see my latest sponsor!!! A heatseeker for free!!! looks pretty coll. i will prolly need it with that big ole motor!!!

You should. Not many Guys have heard of that Thing.

ChadEXer
04-08-2002, 06:15 PM
I ordered me one of those Rad dual bearing carriers. My stock bearings were gone in my carrier so i took it to a guy to and just wanted him to put a grease zerk in it. Well when i called to come pick it up he done replaced the bearings, seals, and put the zerk in it and was going to charge me like $112 to do all that. I got this brand new one from Terry with dual beearings for $150 in my door. Lighter and stronger with a warranty and better bearings. I guess that guy has him a stock bearing carrier now. I hate to do that but he shouldnt have done all that stuff to it without my consent!!! i also ordered a white TM Designworks chain slider from Terry.

Dave400ex
04-08-2002, 06:18 PM
Man you have all Kinds of Stuff. How much Longer until the Powdercoating is Done?

ChadEXer
04-08-2002, 06:20 PM
