mp3 player help

hey guys i got a philips 20 gig mp3 player and its supposed to have a battery life of 10 hours. wellnot using the backlit or anything, just letting the songs play through on random i can only listen for a few hours. does anyone know how to get more life out of there battery or an explanation of why it lasts so short? cuz i seriously dont understand it. :confused:

Dont have your volume on max, and turn off any antiskip if you dont have g-protection, unless you need antiskip on.

it doesnt skip so theres no anti skip but i do put it on loud volume thanks
