I have a bent steering stem on my EX it looks like just the top 4 or 5 inches of it is bent, is that possible and if so can i just buy that top part to replace it? its a stock steering stem.

What kind of ex ?
400ex, 250ex is 1 peice and you cannot replace the top, not sure about 300ex

got to buy a new one. i think burgaurd makes one for the 400 and maybe the 300.
i have a roll design on my 300 and ive broke the steering stop 3 times and now its bent from a rollover also:rolleyes:

Bring it to a shop and they can bend it back for you. My friend did that with his 400 and another friend with his Blaster, both worked great afterwards.

A new OEM stem is the way to go. They are dirt cheap (last I checked they were $47 @ ServiceHonda.com ) The other good thing is that it will bend before a good set of aftermarket bars or more importantly, your frame will. I'd rather waste another sotch stem for $47 than the frame. It could happen with a chrome molly stem aftermarket stem. Why spend 6 times as much for an aftermarket and introduce more risk to your other components????
