400ex motor swap...besides CRF450...

Alright im sure you guys are all getting sick of these questions but I am looking for an engine swap for a 400ex to something other than a CRF450 motor. I was wondering if something like the CR500 motor or something along those lines would fit. I race in the Iowa harecramble series and am just not getting the power I need to win races...any suggestions would be helpful

YZ426F dirtbike motor or possibly a newer XR650 motor would work. I'm only suggesting this because i've seen them in an ex frame.

yeah, the yz426 engine is not only easier to get ahold of, they are cheaper... and have more snap to them when you hit the gas, the CRF is more like a true four stroke, while the yamaha you have to keep it moving, or you'll bog down.

Yeah im seriously looking in to a yz426 motor but where would be the best place to find one??? and does it bolt right into the frame or do i have to fab up mounts?
