This weekend a friend of mine was riding my 250x. Don't ask me how, but he hit a tree. He bent or torqued the steering shaft a little. Is this something that could be trued or do you have to replace it? If you have to replace it, how much do they cost or does anyone have one they want to sell off there parts bikes?

You might be able to Straighten it Out, but it won`t be as Strong. Wouldn`t a 300EX Steering Stem work? If it would, just Buy a Stock 300EX Stem.

I would just get an aftermarket one. The stock are really easy to bend so it could happen again. Did he bind the things at the bottom of the stem of the actual stem? Because i couldnt see how he bent the actual stem.

Well do you want a Solid Mount or the Anti-Vibe? I would get the Anti-Vibe. The Solid Mount is $220. The Anti-Vibe is $275. Then you can get Chrome Extra.

I just checked with a local dealer and they said a stock steering tube is 140.50. This is my wife's bike, I am thinking this would be satisfactory enough. What are any of your thoughts?

If it`s your Wife`s Quad it should be ok. I hope she doesn`t Flip it over all the Time.

Nobody said she Couldn`t. I was Joking. He acted like it was his Wife`s Quad so he didn`t really Care. That is 465Stroker`s Wife. Now she is Fast.

At a different dealer they said you can straighten them one time but I just bought a new one instead. There price for a stock tube was only $66. Thanks for all your help though. By the way she hasn't ever flipped, definately can ride but no chance of any championships! Thanks guys!

Are you being sarcastic? It is just for my wife and she doesn't do too much jumping are pounding on it. It is just a stock tube.

I turns out that the steering shaft for an 87 250x is discontinued. Do any of you think a steering shaft from a newer 250 or a 300 would work. They are basically the same machine. Also those people that sent a PM about the steering shaft you had for sale, could you resend I may still be interested.

The problem is the handlebars turn 45 degrees to the tires when going straight. My wife would definately night like that.
