That's not what I came up with -- are you absolutely certain about that?

By my "calculations" that would make the TPS act opposite of what it should - thus reversing the throttle based portion of the timing curve.

I originally got this X-Ref by measuring the various combinations on both TPS sensors - I made the changes and verified that the sensor with the new connecter operated as expected. I then double checked that against what the service manual says I should be seeing at the connector.

Here is the cross reference:

Pink = Blue
Green = Yellow
Grn/Ylw = Black

Here's a little additional information you should ignore unless you're just curious:

To figure out the wiring, it's easiest to make a little chart of each carb showing the results of each of the three possible combinations.

2004 42mm Stock TRX450R carb:
Resistance at: Closed throttle --> Open throttle
As measured between wires

Pink to Grn --- Hi --> Lo
Grn/Ylw to Grn --- Lo --> Hi
Pink to Grn/Ylw --- Hi --> Hi

2003 40mm FCR Carb from CRF450R
Resistance at: Closed throttle --> Open throttle
As measured between wires

Blue to Ylw --- Hi --> Lo
Black to Ylw --- Lo --> Hi
Blue to Black -- Hi --> Hi

Enjoy.

Hey 86atc do you think that the stock carb TPS would bolt right onto the FCR carb? I know it slides right and and the dimensions are teh same and what not. The only difference I found is the stock one has two mounting holes, and the FCR only has one. Now I dont see this posing a problem do you? The questions is do they both give off the same readings? etc....

I haven't tried, but if it can be adjusted down to ~500 ohms at closed throttle and comes up to 3500~4000 ohms when you open the throttle - it'll likely work fine.

Let us know.

I don't know if mine is right or wrong know??? I have mine wired up excactly the same as BSTURDIVANT. Mine seem to run fine like this, but can't help wondering if it could run better with a different X-Ref on the wires.....Just curious how everybodys X-Ref is?

The tps from your stock carb. will not work without some modification. The shaft that engages the tps is to short on the fcr I tried to do it to save some cutting and splicing, plus the slotted hole in stock tps is to small for the fcr screw to fit through.
