My opinion is you should get a JE 12:1 piston (88mm), a TC 924 mx grind cam, and dont bother with the valves off the bat. The stock ones will be fine with the cam and piston so save your money for some port + polish and add oversize valves down the line.

I went with a JE piston but I think most are well quality and do the same job. As far as a cam goes, how much do you want to spend. Hot cams are cheap and don't require any spring or rocker change. It depends on how the cam is made to decide if you need hardened rockers and springs.

i like wiesco and JE the best for pistons. the curtis sparks cam is awsome, i really like mine. if you can, go ahead and get the port work done but i sugest getting it done by TC, baldwin, or sparks.
