hot cams

how good are hot cams? Im getting a 440 kit done right now. I wasent gona put a cam in but i was told to for most power so ive been looking around. i really dont have the money right now so im looking for one that i could use with stock rocker, valves, and springs. Also with a 440 kit are you supposed to eliminate the choke or something?

Your 440 kit won't make much of a difference until you upgrade the cam. It's a MUST DO. Hot cams are supposed to be compatible with stock (un-hard faced) rockers. Removing the choke is not required but will give you a very slight increase in performance.
