There are quite a few posts about this mod. Do a search on 300ex shock conversion and see what comes up. I don't know about the prices though.

yes it works, get it for 50 bucks, get 400ex shocks, put them on your stock 300ex arms and it will dramtically help out. or you can also get 400ex arms, but jeff@quadshop says its a bad idea

If this works, and somebody with a 300 is interested I just bought Elka fronts so I'll sell my stockers. Send me a pm.

according to jeff, not saying he is right or wrong, it puts to much stress on the ball joints causing them to break, causing a crash, causing pain, causing no good. Now, in theory this is very true, but a friend of mine has had his for well over a year now with absolutly no problems, and we don't ride very easy (granted he has aftermarket a-arms so that might make a difference).

Well it was me that just won that Ebay auction for my cousins 250X. he is putting aftermarket front shocks on and he has 250R a-arms. He is a big boy too..weighs about 240..I will let you know how it all works out..It seems to be a good idea..who knows though..I will try and update and let all of you know who is looking to do this!!
