I was there, it was a very light turnout for a D6 State Harescramble Series double points race..I believe the horrible weather forecast ontop of the Notorious rocks at Jack Frost turned alot of riders away!
There were only 3 pro riders starting 1st row, 6 Vet riders starting 2nd row(me being one of them) and I really didnt look back to see who was starting behind us:( ...I believe there were 11 in open C class.
They rain was light in the beginning of the race and it started to downpour first 15 minutes into it. I personally snapped the pull string on my roll offs while in second place on the first lap.I wear contact lenses and riding without goggles and having lenses in your eyes with mud is not easy to deal with. I noticed several hard crashed quads on the sides of the trails as the race went on...the rain,rocks,and mud took its toll on some riders. On one crashed quad I noticed a snapped steering stem with no rider insight,that kinda freaked me out a little bit..I hope he was okay and not laying in the bushes somewhere hurt...I later noticed he was getting towed out of the woods and appeared to be okay.
Overall I knew it was going to be a nasty race from the start and besides my goggle and glove problems I had a good time!We ran 3 laps with Randy Brandt taking first.. I ended up with 5th which I thought was supposed to be 4th but, I didnt argue...I was tired and didnt feel like protesting, The scorers had a hard enough job in the rain,I was happy to finish this one.

I went and I must say every time I go back to that mountain I like it more. There were not as many people there as there should have been. I was thinking before the race that it reminded me of Hurricane Hills. Nasty wet. One positive not as much mud. There were some nasty puddles though. I had a good time there. There was 12 in the C class. I think there was about the same in the B and about 18 or so riders behind us in the blaster, utility, senior, and auto sport classes.

I finished 2nd on the day. Almost left with a win, but a late lap mishap and I watched as the 1st place rider went by. Got back on and finished about 15 secs behind him. 3rd and 4th were a while minutes before they finished.

anybody have any pics of that track? Im just curious how bad the rocks really are? I hear different opinions on it and i myself have turned it down becasue of some other stories about it being really rough and taking its toll on quads. I dont want to go out and destroy my 7000 dollar 450r. Not looking to spending alot this year on replacement parts.

I lost my left footpeg and swingarm skidplate halfway through the race. The left side of my nerfs were dragging along the ground so i had no where to put my foot. I still got 3 laps in and finished 3rd.

there were like 10 or so...the guy who supposedly "won" (#109 or something) somehow went from dead last to 3rd place between the first and second lap and then ended up finishing 1st from the 2nd to 3rd lap. However, the guy who "supposedly" finished 2nd said that he was in first place from the start and no one passed him so he had to have won the race. they ended up giving that guy first place and giving #109 4th place. :huh

thats because they were cutting the track,did you see the tracks by the new ski slope section towards the end of the lap....probaby cut a 1/4 mile off the track..i saw by the 3rd lap the officials roped it off.

Yeah thats what we figured and thats such bull**** i hate people that do that. so anyways..does anyone have some good pics?

I didn't get any pics due to the rain and lack of a photographer.

Joe I ran the dale and man was it running great!

Also guys did you like the new section they added for the race. i thought it made it pretty cool!:D

Give me the scoop in the A class, I know there were not many riders there. Who were they....


I gave into peer(wife) pressure and did not go to the race. What a mistake, no Hertz, no Borich and it was double points day!!!!!

3 guys there one of them was Rothermel. the other 2 might have been Jarod McClure and I am not sure of the other. I saw Jarod before the race, but wasn't sure if he was going to run. Shoulda came Jay the track was cool.:eek2:
