I think your list is good except the top two...the only reason i say that is because the only tecate 4 ive ever seen couldnt even make it up iron man at winchester bay...its about 350 ft tall and about 10 feet wide..in the sand of course.. I could make it when all I had was a pipe, so that didnt leave me feeling like the tecates were smokin' fast..but maybe that one wasnt running right?

alky do you have any idea how high 350 ft. is? thats one big hill!!!thats a 30 plus storie building. are you sure you didn't mean 35 ft. thats still a good sized hill.
and if a tecate couldn't make it then it must not have been running right or it was the rider. because the machine is more then capable.

i agree with alky but then again i have olny seen on tecate 4 and it looked like she has been very abused, but i have talked to people that have riding them, owned them and they say that they were a rocket. 250Rs are deffinalty fast though

Thes fastest 250cc quad from the factory was the tecate. Hands down, no contest.

yep if you wanna talk about the big 4 the fastest was the tecate hands down. if you wanna get obscure it was probably the tiger 4 250.

ps- LT250r's are faster than 250r's as much as people don't like to admit it.

Its not a big dune, although there are dunes almost that big...Its a tree shot, and its been measured by people before....The elevation at the bottom is 0, and then they checked the elevation at the top was like 356 when they checked it..theres another one a little bigger than that, and here is an easy one that is pretty tall..you can see me and a bud at the top..red and yellow dots.

If you are talking about bone stock quads, and quickest:

TECATE 4
LT 250
250R
MOJAVE

i don't believe a honda has ever been faster then something in its class. hmm honda likes to go slow don't they i guess thats y they handle so goood u can only go 2mph in 5th gear.

I have riddin a tecate and a bunch of Lt250's, and they were faster than the R. Not by that much, but thet were. No drag with the tecate, i was by myslef with no other quads, but in straight line drags with the LT and R, the LT would get it by a lenght r two until top speed.

O.k understand that bone stock a tecate is faster but what if u say had a pipe on the R nuthing else. im not sure but would the R pretty much smoke them? And if the LT and Tecate are so fast then y arent there very many of them racing. Maybe it cuz they just cant Last as LONG AS A HONDA.

yea ive always wondered why people wouldnt admitt that. I believe the non powervalved LT's were a tiny bit faster as well. I honestly believe that the Suzuki wasnt as big as the honda because of the chitty suspention. The LT250R handles good.. not as good as a 250R but it was close. And as far as a reliabuility, every LT250R ive seen ( my self and 2 other friends have them ) have been rock solid. Talk to 4punks, his 87 LT250R ran on the factory top end for 15 years or something like that. Dont think ive ever heard of a honda doing that

i HATE that when people use that as the reason for owning a honda. Honestly i think when people say theyd rather own a honda over say a Preditor because of reliabuilty, i think there just being arrigant.

One good reason for not seeing as many Tecate's is the fact it was a two year production run with not nearly as many produced.

As for this post, if we are talking only about speed, leaving handling and other factors out...

Tecate4
LT250R
TRX250R

umm... wont waste time with the other two :p Still nice quads, but unfair comparrison.
