big gun exhaust questions

i have a 2000 400ex with a race big gun exhaust system without the header. the exhaust is very loud and sounds good and preforms good but i need it to be quiet sometimes because of some of the places i ride. i see the new big bun exhaust systems have a quiet core adapter that can be put in. can i do this with my exhaust i have now or do i need to buy a new big gun system.

If the can you have is the same that they are producing now, the the quiet core will work on the slip-on.
