wow...that kid has always been one of my favorites if not my favorite FMX'er and that just puts him on the top

your gonna see double backflips, barrel rolls, backflip 360's at 75 feet, body variables, and possiably a frontflip if this guy isn't broke up from trying it

The greatest FMXer is easily Travis Pastrana. He has been able to do the backflip superman seat grab for a while. He was the creator of the flatspin 360, barrel roll, and the body varial. He's a complete & undisputed stud.

I'm gonna make a little prediction.... no double backflip or frontflip is gonna be done or even attempted in the X-games this year. I just don't see it happening.

And for the record.... I think that the backflip sort of ruined freestyle. Freestyle was the best back in the day of McGrath. I miss the days of a good ol' tailwhip and nac nac.

I agree...there is NO way you could do a front flip! (not on purpose at least!) As for a double back-flip...that would be nuts! I'm not sure if it will be pulled off or not. It could be done over a Foam pit, but I don't see it happening over a gap.

yeah i think a front flip could be done if some built the right kinda ramp....i mean to me if you were gonna do a front flip....you would have slam the front breaks right before the lip of the ramp and then u wouldnt go too far...but i believe it can be done it the jump is not so big....im not saying it would be easy but i think it can be done.

I can't wait to see the bikes, riders, new tricks, ect! Deegan always has had a couple sweet wcc dirt bikes at some of the x games. I'd like to see the new dirt bike race they are haven too.

I'm glad to see some differant types of flips so people can stop talking about the backflip. I was tired of it before it happened there was so much hype about it.

A front flip is totally do-able, and you don't have to slam on the front brakes to do it.

It's a bit more challenging than a backflip. For one, your ramp isn't nearly as steep, which means less height, less airtime. To get that airtime back, you have to go faster and further, which certainly adds to the danger.

Also, you would probably have to let off the throttle right as you go off the jump to make the front end dive and begin your foward rotation. This also adds to the danger as it can make it very difficult to judge the proper distance. Let off too soon, and you come up short.

Another added danger, it is much more difficult to spot your landing. With a backflip, you can spot your landing halfway through your rotation. At that point you can make any adjustments to your rotation (if possible) or make the decision to bail. If you stick with it, you can keep your eyes on your landing through the rest of your rotation. With a front-flip, you have to take your eyes OFF your landing halfway through your rotation, so you're almost flying blind until your landing.
