I bought a pro desing case saver for my 450r. ITs nice and all, but i wonder is is any better than stock other than looks? What makes aftermarket case savers soo much better. Also, the stock case saver had a spot for the drain tube coming off the carb, the new one does not. Im just curious how everyone is running there drain tube now with the aftermarket case saver.

Most case savers are for show and to save very little weight. I have the same one from Pro Design.

I just put the pro design one over the top of my stock one.

i think stcok is the way to go. i have thrown chains before and the big after market case saver put a hole in the case, and/or broke the bolt out of the case. never had a prob w/ the stock one, maybe cause it's thin and rides on the middle of the chain.

You throw the chain you will most likely break the lower bolt on your case no matter what style you have. Have three friends who have broken bottom bolts on the case. Better to have a case saver than not to have one. Just stinks that the cases are so easy to break...;)

well it sucks that i spent 30 bucks on somthing that i didnt need. Id rather spend money on something better then stock, not money just on looks. Oh well, at least it was only 30 bucks.

If keep your chain tight and you shoudn't throw chains off.

it not just throughing chains its for when they break also which you cant really avoid. i beleive the pro design offers better protection from stock though
