If I still have enough energy, I let her cool down then clean her up. Pull the plastic off and clean every bit of it. After she's clean, then lube up the chain and anything else that made noise while I was riding...give the oil a final check and put her away. ;)

I dont think there is any grease zerk fittings??...........

I usually powerwash my quad if i am muddy then clean the filter let it dry then re-oil it. Lube chain, lube a-arms, check oil (or change if needed), armor-all plastics.

Thats it i think

Hey inacoma,
I've heard that powerwashing your quad is not good for it, blasts out your grease and damages seals. What have you other guys heard about this.

I believe it, but I dont take the wand and get right up on the quad though. I am not hardly putting any water pressure towards anything that i know that i could damage. Plus right after i wash it i dry the quad down and start oiling and regreasing everything. That is a good point to bring up though!!

yeah, I had to replace one of my bearings this weekend and the guy at the dealership said that powerwashing can damage your seals and cause your bearings to wear out quicker.

What are you guys using to lub the front suspension since there are no zerks like on the warrior. I was told the bushings are sealed on the 400 and 250ex.

How do you clean the chain after a day in the sand? I power rinse my quads with a wide fan spray and do not get the tip closer than 1-2 feet from the quad, then hand wash with simple green, then re-rinse with power washer, so I dont blast water between the o-rings of the chain, but when I am done I still see some sand clinging to the chain.

Thanks,

John
