View Full Version : 6 1/2 Feet Of Air On A Stock 300ex

03-29-2002, 08:14 PM
I have a natural double on one of the power lines I ride on.I hit it in fouth gear wide open.It hurts real bad even when I land on the down slope.I measured it the hillbilly way.I buried the end of a limb that is about 7ft high. When I jumped I would look over at the limb and the bottom of my tires where just a little bit lower than the top of the limb.I thought that was pretty good for a 300EX.:D

Yeh I have stiffened them all the way.How much more air can you get with the works shocks before you bottom out?

hum, i can do a pretty good number, but they feel kinda soft when i push down on them, i think that they feel alot softer but they dont bottom out as much as stock, i raced this weekend were there was a 75 foot table top and 3 times i came up about 6 feet to short, and it bottomed out there, but usally i dont hit that hard, works are DEF better then im stockers though,

i got 4 1/2 feet yesterday by the power lines down the road from me and i was hititng it in 2nd gear..

i busted my nuts then i quit the silly stuff for about 1 hr cause that is how long it took me to get up i just hoped of the 4wheeler while hitting the off switched and just rolled to the ground that was so pain full :(

I think I can get 7-8ft high under my stock 300ex. The jump is a big kicker that I hit in 5th gear pinned and I dont clear it by 2-3 feet. The suspension bottom really bad and I hurt myself too, but its alot of fun :D

I am not sure exactly how how we where jumping but I think I am right there with U guys.

There is a place that everyone around here rides. It is in the middle of like 2000 acres of farm feilds. And there is just a little circle track there to.If U jump the berm backwards U can really really launch. We where jumping atleast 40-50 foot.Which is alot without a down ramp. But we where jumping over the top of each other I am 6ft 5 so the 400's where getting that high. And I was getting just a little bit lower than them.(they all had aftermarket shocks)

But I also cracked my swingarm. Not on that jump though.

on my 200sx i could get 25ft out and 4ft high off a little tiny foot high jump. now i built it up buy i cant go off it cuz my wheel bearing is crap. it sucks bad.

I can get out atleast 5ft. of air on a jump in my yard. I get 6ft of air and 9ft of distance this is onto a 1 foot hill of a landing. It kills but i'm kinda used to it now. I can bottom out the suspension by just jumping on it.

no you can lnd with the machine neutral and no gas and land like you hardly even feel it i really jump oo high i just bottomed the ex suspesion though! woohoo! i cleared a 20ft tabletop jump! but its all technique on how you land really! like bigger the jump put your rear end down more so it hits first then the front will naturally come down and it won hurt its a accquired skill!just keep practcing and youll surprise your buddies! like the ones that live aways away from ya then when the come with there yz 250's kx 80's and yz,85s you can pull out the xr 200 with stifffend up suspension and the ex and start out jumpin them its the greatest!!! you should really try it!:macho :macho trust me its awesome and you shut up your buddies how they say your quad is a slug and how if i jump up and down i could beat the quad jumpin! lol :devil :devil :devil

Me and rdmex went riding yesterday and i hit a 35 footer, i was about 5 1/2 ft in hte air, and all you heard when i landed was a big CLANK from the suspension bottoming out.
