help please

I was riding my 300ex today and me and my 2 friends stopped and just sat for a little bit and we were getting ready to ride some more and i went to start my 300 and it wouldnt start...we tried to coast start it that didnt work...we decided to tow it back but it wouldnt let me shift into neutral...if anyone has an idea what could be wrong with it please help

Yea keys on...has gas...it wont shift...shifter lever just moves up and down...cant get it into neutral so i can see if the light comes on to see if the battery is dead...what else you wanna kno?

could it be that his gears may be messed up? or something inside his motor, also have you checked the starter maybe it has taken a chit

Im having my brother get it tomorrow and hes gonna take it somewhere and have it looked at...i have no clue what is wrong with it...it wouldnt start and wouldnt shift thats about all i can say...everything ran fine 5 mins b4 i tried to start it again so i dont really know what is wrong with it
